This beach offers a little more space than most of the other Evanston beaches, with good parking. I wish this beach was cleaner - sometimes there seems to be quite a bit of garbage in the sand and certain areas of sand appear to be dirty/oily.
One of two of my favorite beaches in Evanston. Always enough room even when it's pretty busy during the warm sunny days in summer and fall. Sand is very soft and not rocky/gravelly at all. Very little traffic on the residential road immediately behind so the beach is pretty calm. Pretty long beach too and plenty of area to run around, although not as large as clark street beach a mile to the north.
you can't enjoy the hobbies on this beach, the kid's police yell at you right away
Great place for picnics in the park with grill areas. Dogs can run and play in the grass. Nice lake breeze.
This beach is good for taking kids, there's a lot of space for sand and there's a decent length of shallow water to wade in. Also, it's fun for kids to find a ton of "sea glass" which is plentiful on the north side of this beach
Such a lovely spot to clear your mind.
If you’re not from Evanston, the city makes you pay for parking (it is always packed with residents and beach goers) AND pay for beach entry. Each are separate apps, no cash. It’s such a hassle. Not worth going.
